Richard Mille, Title sponsor of Les Voiles de St. Barth
Alongside the organisers of Les Voiles de Saint Barth as a main sponsor since the event’s creation in 2010, today the Richard Mille brand is stepping up a gear by becoming title sponsor to the event.
In this move, a new logo will now accompany the event and there will also be a special watch designed to reward the winner of the Richard Mille – Maxi Cup: the RM 60-01 Regatta Flyback Chronograph, a model devoted to offshore sailing powered by the automatic grade 5 titanium RMAC2 caliber with its 55 hours of power reserve, variable inertia balance and flyback chronograph functions, an annual calendar with oversize date and UTC. “The RM 60-01 makes sailing easier thanks to its special rotating bezel, punctuated by four points of the compass and a 360° graduated disc with a 24-hour scale. In this way, it stands out from other sailing watches through its ability to adjust to the northern or the southern hemisphere without any additional calculation”, states Richard Mille, who has resolutely affirmed the importance of the marine universe in his collection.
“The fact that Richard Mille is reinforcing its partnership is excellent news and it’s also a fine indication of their trust in us and their recognition of the work that has been accomplished over the past ten years”, says François Tolède, Event Director for Les Voiles de Saint Barth, who is delighted that the Richard Mille brand, which has always believed in his project, has today become an event stakeholder by stepping up its support even further.
“I love being involved in a project from the get-go,” Richard Mille comments. “We put our trust in Les Voiles de Saint Barth before the race even existed and each year we’ve worked towards setting it up. Now that it’s firing on all cylinders, Les Voiles de Saint Barth is an unmissable event in the Caribbean. François takes great care in making this a top notch event on a global scale by striving to give it increasing appeal both at sea and on land. We are demonstrating more loyalty than ever this year and we are bolstering our participation with complete solidarity for the organisers of Les Voiles. It seemed key to me to develop this type of project in line with the teams in place. Creating such a successful event fills us with shared pride, which ultimately manifests itself as a deep sense of camaraderie.”
